Wild video shows wave crash beachside Hawaii wedding

A Hawaii beachside ceremony was disrupted by , a tropical storm which sent large waves crashing into the service.

The video shows the stunned faces of Riley and Dillon Murphy as they celebrate their wedding day.

The couple captured footage of dozens of people running as the water surged over the tables and chairs at their wedding.

They said that they knew of Tropical Storm Darby and that it was likely to bring rain and turbulent weather to Hawaii on Saturday.

The couple spoke out about the storm during a KHON interview.

Dillon told the station that they were “kind of right” at the moment when we were going to move a few things. However, the big wall just appeared.

He added that the cake survived “fortunately” and that no one was hurt in the chaos.

According to Riley, the couple believed that the storm was metaphorical — because both marriages and life bring their own storms.

The Saturday ceremony went on as planned. Partygoers had a great time dancing to a slightly more wetter floor.

Dillon shared his thoughts with KHON, “We did manage to get some good photos with like waves splashing up and the ceremony was beautiful.”

He said, “We didn’t have our dance floor but nobody seemed to mind — by the end of that night we were all dancing in the mud and the show was incredible.” It was still a great show.

The couple ended the day with the people who were most important to them.

Riley stated, “It is so important to be together and have all our loved ones there.” It made the event very special.

Her husband said, “I would say that the sense of unity from this happening, if nothing, it brought our family immediately together,” she added.
