There’s a tendency within sports to be too demanding too quickly from athletes.
It’s the way we make rapid judgments and of quick to bail out of the same athletes that we were so eager to cheer for just a few years ago.

Andrew Wiggins was one of the players at the forefront of our attention after his initial few years with the Minnesota Timberwolves were filled with numerous highlights, but not many winning following his selection as at No. one overall at this year’s NBA Draft.

“He helps keep his staff engaged. He keeps the team on track and makes all team members accountable.
The transformation was incredible to observe. Wiggins transformed into more than just an effective defender, frequently being tasked with protecting the opponent’s most offensive player during Golden State’s return to highest levels of the NBA.
Wiggins was Golden State’s second-highest valued player during the championship run — just behind Steph Curry who averaged 18.3 points as well as 8.8 rebound per contest during the NBA Finals.

It’s among sports’ best stories. A superior athlete finally achieving the goals which were put in his path.
Through the years, Wiggins has been lucky enough to have played with some of the best players the NBA has ever seen, assisting Curry as well as Draymond Green rise from the bottom of the NBA to be champions again for the 4th consecutive time, and also watching the fan-favorite Klay Thompson come back to court after suffering two horrific injuries.
“He’s such a great guy and I feel like everyone that’s been around him knows how hard he works,” Wiggins told reporters when asking Thompson about his return to court back in the month of January. “And the amount of work Thompson put in to be back. Thompson suffered a catastrophic injury, then returned and then he was injured once more. I think it hurts the NBA world as he’s an excellent player and fantastic person.
“To see how hard he worked to get back, and then to see the success as soon as he gets back, it was amazing. Any hooper loves to see a comeback story. It’s priceless. And his journey was priceless. It was amazing to watch.”
Wiggins has plenty to contend with in the next few months, especially with the extension of his contract to eight years as Wiggins enters the last term of the contract. In the meantime, Wiggins is simply enjoying his life as an NBA champion and is happy to be a an integral part of the Golden State family.

“I love Golden State,” Wiggins declared. “I love the organization. They treat me and my family so well. I love it.”
Wiggins can be a lesson for all of us – don’t be too quick to judge athletes we enjoy watching. Sometimes, patience is needed.
