Border Patrol pushes back on Mayorkas claim that southern border is secure: ‘They are liars’

Numerous Border Patrol agents are rebuffing Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’s claims of the border being “secure” in the same way exactly as the border agents at the front of the infamous migrant crisis struggle to handle the huge numbers they face.

More than 207,000 encounters with migrants during June. It was the fourth consecutive month that the number of interactions surpassed 200k number. However, Mayorkas spoke at The Aspen Security Forum on Tuesday and denied that border security is a problem.

“Look The border is secured,” he said. “We are working hard to improve the security of the border. It’s been a historic issue.”

Then he criticized lawmakers who have said that they will not commit to comprehensive immigration laws until the issue is resolved.

MAYORKAS Claims SOUTHERN BORDER IS “SECURE” HISTORIC MIGRANTS CRISIS RAGE

“I have spoken to many lawmakers who have told me that we must address the issue of border security before they can pass legislation. I do not agree with the reasoning behind making the solution a hostage until the issue is solved,” he said.

“There remains work that needs to be completed,” the man said, before noting the words “safe and secured are 2 different terms.”

“Smugglers are operating in border crossings on the Mexican part of the border, and putting the life of a person in their hands isn’t risk-free,” he said.

However, Border Patrol agents who spoke to Fox News Digital did not agree with Mayorka’s opinion.

“Hundreds of thousands of people crossing each month isn’t the definition of security,” one agent said. “They are deceivers and any who believes in them is a fool.”

Brandon Judd, President of the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) has also denied the claim that the border is safe which is a reference to not just the flow of drugs to the U.S., but also the number of immigrants who can pass through agents.

A top CBP source informed Fox News last month that there were 440,000 reported lost persons in the year that started in October. This includes more than 50,000 being reported in May. Together with the 400,000 reported lost persons since the beginning of FY 2021 implies that more than 800,000 illegal immigrants have passed past CBP agents since October 2020.

“As terrible as the apprehension figures are, and they’re over the top, the most terrifying aspect of border security is the number of people who are escaping and the number of illegal drugs being brought through the borders,” Judd told Fox News Digital. “Secretary Mayorkas knows the cartels make use of illegal border crossings to help facilitate their more valuable contraband, which includes illegal aliens and Fentanyl.”

“Secretary Mayorkas knows we have the weakest border security ever, as proven by the existence of nearly one million lost persons and more than 100,000 overdose deaths caused by drugs that cross our border in the southwest,” he said. “There are simple solutions, but based on evidence and a reluctance to put in place programs to secure the border, it is clear that this Administration which includes Secretary Mayorkas doesn’t care about the American citizens.”

A different Border Patrol source told Fox News Digital that Mayorkas is announcing “bold face-to-face falsehoods” about the American citizens.

“They’re making use of issues such as poverty as well as climate change, crime, and poverty as grounds for asylum, but they’re not meeting the legal standards of law,” they claimed before stating that the vast majority of asylum applications are “absolutely fake.”

“Mayorkas and [Border Patrol Chief Raul[Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz and President Biden are all failures who don’t have the support of their agents or the majority of commanders, and all have violated the “oath” of office to uphold the law and the Constitution and ought to be dismissed,” the source said.

The Biden administration has focused its approach to the crisis to target “root causes” of the crisis, such as poverty and corruption within Central America, as well as creating what they call “safe and legal routes” for immigrants seeking asylum.

However, Republicans as well as some border officials have claimed that the administration is causing the situation by making it more convenient for a lot of immigrants to be allowed in the U.S., narrowing interior immigration control, and delaying the construction of the wall along the border.
